Now to continue this look into Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines. In the previous instalment, Mark Flavian was preparing to head to King's Way. Before that though...
It is time to stock up on supplies like ammunition. This trip is going to be a long one...
Now for some blood packs.
Here is some additional dialogue from Vandal.
While Mark tries his best to avoid mass killings and causing harm, he is still a vampire; a predator of the night that hunts the living to survive. At least he can control how much he drains.
And no matter how hard you ask, I doubt you will ever be Embraced, Vandal.
Now to move on to King's Way. This cat seems to be a good omen.
Unless the house's windows are completely covered over.
A side door reveals more of the outdoor areas.
Looks like someone found no use for the pool.
"Ah-ha. A trellis. You could climb onto the roof and avoid the security. Never depend upon weapons and high-tech when there is a simpler solution at hand." - Tracer Tong, Deus Ex.
So far, no entrances here.
These stairs seem promising.
At last, a door. Things are progressing forward.
In a macabre manner.
And it looks like those creatures from the tape are still living here.
As the reader can tell, much of the house is covered in flesh. As though the walls and furniture were made from flesh and bone.
Here is one of those creatures turning to ash.
Like I said, flesh and bone.
Take note of this item lying on the table.
Any artefact can be useful so picking up this fetish is a definite positive.
Time to head into the kitchen.
I do no want to know how the house's owners prepare meals here.
The refrigerator at least contains some useful blood-packs.
Now to move on and it looks like that was the entrance that the lady in the tape entered through.
More bone architecture and furnishings abound as Mark heads deeper into this house of horror.
Even the toilets have not been spared the flesh overhaul.
Eventually, Mark reaches a door that leads into the basement. Perhaps the identity of the house's owner can be revealed.
Looks like someone is down there.
Looks like this person is a fellow vampire.
With a strange appearance...
Not exactly. It is interesting to see a different vampire clan with different appearances to the other vampires seen so far.
Malkavian nicknames. Gotta love em.
Nice to see that this vampire also understands the special insight Malkavians have.
Ah... a Gehenna believer.
Wait, if the tape was not intended to fall into mortal hands, why is there a tape to begin with? Is he that desperate to make home videos to watch in his spare time?
That could be a problem for the Camarilla if the Nosferatu were taken out of the equation.
As we can see here, this vampire is of the opinion that the Camarilla are merely slaves to the ancient vampire (Antediluvians) and that the Sabbat are needed in order to oppose them properly. Remember what I said about perspective influencing opinion?
Looks like Mark is getting confirmation on what has been inside the Ankaran Sarcophagus or possibly, what this vampire thinks is inside the Sarcophagus.
Now for some details on how he created those creatures from before. Vicissitude is what the reader may want to look for to get more details on what he meant by coaxing, weaving and lacing.
. No better than DMP then.
I would not call a creature that walks on its arms and can only attack by charging as exquisitely functional but then again, what do I know about creating abominations through shaping flesh.
I believe this conversation option may be different if the player character has a low Humanity score. Since Mark has a high one, the only option is confrontation.
Bring it on.
Now to defeat the Tzimisce in combat.
The battle mostly consists of pursuing after the Tzimisce and dealing damage after he stops teleporting around the basement. An additional complication are the creatures that constantly spawn during the fight. It is a tedious fight for the most part.
In the end, Mark drove the Tzimisce away and finished off the last of the creatures.
Now to begin what is widely considered to be the worst part of this game, a sentiment I share.
The sewers begin with this exposed pipe.
Looks like these sewers are dangerous.
The deceased here has this clipboard to read through for background.
One thing odd I will note is that this man was still writing out his thoughts on this clipboard right up to his death. I wonder if this man and the female ghost at the Ocean House Hotel are related.
Here is a switch. I wonder what does it open.
The rest of the Sewers.... Yay...
I will probably stop here for now so that I can properly chronicle Mark's adventures in the Sewers in a future installment. This is a rather short installment when compared to previous parts.
